Just one little snow day...please

Today we were forecasted to have a blizzard 8-12" of snow. I got so excited. Why? I brought my laptop home. Our fridge is stocked with these easy food & things to bake with. I had envisioned Hibdon & I sleeping in & making a huge breakfast, watching a few movies, baking some treats, taking a nap, and repeating all of the above. Mother Nature disappointed me.

We didn't get as much as they predicted and the roads are fine. We did get a delayed start to work, but I can't sleep in. I guess my vision of a snow day may have been too close to the college life. Hibdon's idea of stocking up is getting tons of food from Taco Bell. He also gets plenty of refreshments. Then we cozy down in one of the 50 couches in his living room & Speedy controls the movie selection via Netflicks on his Xbox. Oh those were the days. I guess I should be thankful for my 9:30 opening, dress myself warm "just in case" and prepare for a work day. It's not as much fun driving in the almost bad road conditions as a pregnant woman. I get the pregnant crazies. You know being extra cautious, going super slow & yelling at the crazy drivers passing all of us polite drivers.

I guess grown ups don't really get snow days.

Crazy Wrestling Family

Dear ABJ-

I need to fore warn you about the family God blessed you with. Both sides are a little competitive. Papa coached it all, but basketball was our family sport. Gpa is the best elementary wrestling coach around & has been since forever. Daddy was a two-time state champion wrestler. I haven't really been too involved in wrestling until your Daddy. Let me tell you, it's a whole different world. It's exciting & intense.

Daddy has worked out a few times with a boy from Barnsdall that went to the state tournament tonight. It's been a rocky road for the kid & its been so awesome for him to make it to state. So tonight he wrestled in the finals. BUT Daddy had to work. He was so bummed to miss it. We got a way around it though. I pulled the match up on the laptop & facetimed your Daddy. I held the phone where he could watch. Guess what..he won! It was exciting!

So there you have it, obsessions. You should just get used to it now. Easton has already been working on his stance with your Daddy...he's not even 2. I would bet the minute he can lace up those shoes & strap on that singlet, we will all be obsessed with watching E. Like I said, get used to it honey. You are coming in to one of those crazy wrestling families.

Dance Parties & American Idol

Dear AnnaBella,

This is my dearest apology to you. First, I would like to apologize for not giving you one ounce of musical talent. Second, I would like to apologize for the singing you are forced to endure.

Recently, I've read that this is the time your hearing is most developed. Books suggest to talk to you as often as possible & your Daddy should start conversations as well. Daddy & I do this often. I hope this helps you recognize our voices quickly.

Unfortunately, for you this also means singing in the car. Daddy & Momma have been in the car a lot lately. Some trips are even long. These trips mean Daddy & Momma pretend to be on American Idol & sing every word to every song that's on the radio. We sing very loudly. We can't carry a tune. I for one am tone deaf...like legit tone deafness. Daddy (don't you dare tell him I said this) thinks he's George Straight, but he's nowhere close to that. So you are forced to here us sing are little hearts out.

Another fun time killer are the dance parties along with the singing. Especially if the songs are from junior high-high school era. I think you might like these parties though. For the most part, just about three times a day, I swear you have your own dance party. I'm sure you have mad skills. Momma likes to dance, she makes Daddy join in. If it's country we will two-step the night away & I don't even have to beg Daddy to dance.

We can be pretty silly, I hope you don't mind! We will more than likely embarrass you many, many times. I say just go with it :)

Love you Baby Girl,

Momma

Who Needs Boring Babies?

I've been praying & praying for my little girl. The normal praying & the abnormal praying. You know, please be healthy, no complications. I've also prayed that she will feel loved & all her needs will be met.

Then I've prayed selfish prayers. For instances, please let my baby sleep through the night at a very early age. Please let my baby be the one baby that requires 8 hours of sleep a night. Please let my baby like every healthy food. Please help my baby quickly understand appropriate behavior & noise levels in public. Please let my baby be happy with a good book & not like loud annoying toys. The list goes on and on....and on and on. Oh I've prayed into the teen years. I'm having a girl for crying out loud.

Then I stop, I'm still & I listen to God. With his peaceful humor he reminds me that I'm praying for a boring child.

My nephew is a wild, sometimes loud, truck lovin', 1000% all boy. He didn't sleep through the night very well at all. He's too busy to take too many public places without getting bored. He does however like to find the cutest girl sitting around us & start flirting. He's seriously hilarious. Whenever I think about this little man I'm so in awe of his personality. I'm so in love with who he is becoming. I imagine this silly, crazy, no fear little boy will be the center of most everyone's attention.

So I'll take the not so fun things & learn to love what they become. Ill be happy to see my little girl's personality grow.

But can I still pray for a baby that loves sleep as much as I do? Pretty please!

Double digit days

Just so you know, I'm very good at Math & Science (specifically Chemistry), but I rely on my calculator so much that the simple math gets me. This morning I had a reminder on my phone that I am in week 26!

I was so excited, here's what I put in my calculator.

40(the average pregnancy in weeks) -26=14
14 weeks left!! So...
14 *7= 98...98 days until AnnaBella arrives!!

This is so exciting. I'm looking forward to more milestones.

For right now, the pregnancy is going good. I feel great. I still exercise, just not as consistent. I'm eating way more sugar then one human should consume in a lifetime. Laffy Taffies are still at the top of my list. Lately, I've craved more drinks than food. Sprite has always been my pop of choice, but now orange pop & cherry limeades are the things I send Hibdon after.

Outside of food, there hasn't been a lot of changes. A growing belly that is uncomfortably tight at all times. I used to rub Palmers on out of stretch mark fear, now it's relief for skin that feels like it needs assistance.

I'm enjoying my bump & all the compliments, door holding & down right babying I'm getting. I'd love to not have to back pain, tight tummy & stiff hips, but we can't have everything.

Double digit days, I think you are going to be alright my friend.

Just a few days off

Dear ABJ,

I want you to know I am anxiously awaiting your arrival, but I'm also thinking of the dramatic decrease in your Daddy's attention I will be getting. I know we will both be very focused on you & less on each other. We talk & pray about keeping our relationship first. I know we will be just fine, but this past week I wanted to soak up a little extra time.

Daddy & I spent some of our vacation time. We made a very big promise to not go anywhere, make big plans or have any days that were too busy. We just wanted some us time. It's been wonderful. I have loved every minute. Now we both can say no big plans, but we didn't say no plans in general.

Thursday night we went to OKC to watch our beloved Thunder play. We had a blast & enjoyed our long car ride conversations. Your Daddy always has a brilliant idea or venture he wants to tackle. It's so cute to see his excitement.

Friday- We spent a few hours looking at houses with our realtor. This was very exciting & special for Momma. Our realtor is Austin Gann, who has been a very close friend of mine since birth. Our parents were friends in high school. To this day his Daddy still calls me BB. Looking at houses was much different than the last time we purchased a home. This time it was focused around you. How far will the nursery be from the master? Are there kids in the neighborhood? What's the back yard look like? Which elementary school is this in? It really made me not love any of them. It made me feel like they were just not perfect for you. We will keep looking & praying.

We then celebrated Daddy's birthday with friends. Daddy's college buddy Kyle & Momma had a big scheme of planning dinner. Daddy had no idea Kyle was coming. He was so surprised & very thankful to have all of his friends there. Momma loves surprising Daddy! This is something we will do as much as possible. We will try to plan the perfect gifts or parties for Daddy. Let me tell you, his excitement is so fun to watch.

Saturday was filled with relaxing & lounging. Lots of snuggle time & movies....Finally what I had been waiting for!

Today was the Super Bowl, I really didn't care who won. Momma & Daddy are Peyton fans. So much so that, if you were a boy Daddy wanted to put the name Peyton on our list. I did however enjoy the family time with Aunt Aub, Uncle Shayne, Aunt Sara Beth & Uncle Speed. Per Daddy's request, Momma made her specialty & Daddy's very favorite Italian Cream Cake. He has been asking that this be his birthday cake for weeks now. Some day I will let you help me make this, but we must keep the amount of butter & powdered sugar a secret.

We spent the evening eating, watching football & playing with your cousin E. He finally said my name today! Finally! He said Adam & then B. I've been waiting to hear it for so long. I bet he says yours pretty quickly. I can imagine the two of you will be close buddies.

I have one more day off with Daddy. It's going to be the best one by far. It's his birthday & we have a doctors appointment. We get to see you. I'm so excited! Please be sure to show your pretty little face for me. Last time you didn't really cooperate & it bummed me out. Momma will use her one coffee beverage before we go in to give you some encouragement.

See you tomorrow Baby Girl!
